Been running some combat simulations and I'm not liking the survivability rate. My character will need something to give him an edge as everything he comes up against is close to an even match and then there's the "golden beebee" I have to watch out for. I'm thinking about something along the lines of a few luck points that he can spend to turn any success into a failure or vice-verse. He might need just a little bit better starting equipment too.
I've come up with a solution to the difficulty which required a slight alteration to the preface. Now instead of being dumped on the planet with absolutely nothing but the clothes on his back, he managed to escape in an escape pod which has some survival gear including a side arm that should help with any nasties he encounters.
