This is just a quick test of some combat mechanics I made for a sort of space sim RPG. I'll go into more detail if the system ever gets anywhere.

Final results: Enemy ship destroyed but my reactor core is heavily damaged. Should probably enhance core defense.

Changed up the rules for gatling turrets. I felt like they just took way too many rolls to resolve their hits. Now you only get one shot with higher accuracy but no bonus damage on higher rolls. The plasma turret on the other hand is a little less accurate, but gets an extra hit on a 6.

Enemy ship destroyed, no damage to my ship. I'll do another round with these settings to see if he gets a hit on me. Ideally I want the battle to end with my ship having taken a little damage, at least some of the time. This would be a good representation of an easy battle which is what I'm going for with these particular ships.
