Thanks, all! I'm happy to be here. I've caught myself up on both the setting information and the story so far, and I rolled up my stats over on GitP: [17, 16, 15, 14, 11, 06] (point buy cost 44, using my Expanded 5e Point Buy)
Now, all I have to do is write up a character (I say that like that's not the hardest part...), and I'm open to suggestions. I see you've got some front liners and decent healing, so I'm thinking maybe a RogueLock, or maybe an Evoker? Lemunde, what's your stance on multiclassing?

Oh yeah, you asked about that didn't you? Anyway I don't think that dm has a problem with multiclassing, that happens later on it would need to fit into the story or your training somehow. As far as what class you should play it goes I can't offer any opinions other than whichever one you want to play. 5 is pretty well balanced you don't need a lot of Group synergy and coverage to survive and thrive. I almost think it be fun to have another Martial class another fighter or something. that would be a real band of militia right there
Alright, here are my initial ideas for another Martial character: Valor Bard or Arcane Trickster (We could use the spellcasting, and I've got the stats for INT/WIS to disable traps and DEX for everything else) Shadow or Open Hand Monk (I usually hate MAD builds, but I've got the stats for it) Pact of the Fiend Bladelock (Similar to the monk, what with the MAD-ness and all, but a bit more interesting, background-wise, and has spellcasting)
Sorry, for some reason I thought I responded to your questions earlier today. I guess I typed something out and never got around to clicking "post". Yeah, multiclassing is perfectly fine. Given the choices I'd take monk but that's just based on my own personal taste. I'm not a big stickler for party balance. Unbalanced parties can be pretty fun too so just pick what sounds more appealing to you. If you are thinking about party balance, I would say our current group is a little lacking in the non-combat ability department.
